Introduction

Tarbiat Modares University (with the aim of training academic staff of universities, as the only specialized university of postgraduate education in Iran, producing useful science, expanding the frontiers of knowledge and technology, etc.) was established in 1982 . Studying at Tarbiat Modares University is only possible at the master’s and doctoral level. At present, the university president is Dr. Farhad Danshgo .
This university has 6,505 master students, 3,463 doctoral students, about 351 foreign students, 32,000 graduates, 772 faculty members, 32,473 published articles, and 21 outstanding scientific figures. Tarbiat Modares University offers a complete program of postgraduate studies in educational and research fields, which is approved by the Ministry of Technology, Health and Medical Education in Iran.
The main campus of Tarbiat Modares University is in Tehran. The Faculty of Agriculture is located on the Tehran – Karaj road (17 km from Tehran) and the Faculty of Natural Resources and Marine Sciences is located in the city of Noor, Mazandaran.

1365: Changing the name of the school to Tarbiat Modares University

1386: Amendment of the university statutes in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution
In 2007: Obtaining permission to establish language and literature faculties, social sciences, management and economics, mathematical sciences from the relevant ministry and approval by the security board
In 2009: Obtaining permission to establish chemical, electrical and computer engineering, civil engineering and environmental, and biological sciences faculties from the relevant ministry and approval by the board of trustees
1392: Obtaining permission to establish Law and Mechanical Engineering Faculties from the relevant Ministry and approval by the Security Council
In 2014: Obtaining permission to establish the Mechanical Engineering Faculty from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and approval by the Security Council
