Introduction

Semnan University of Medical Sciences started its official activity as the first medical university in Semnan since 1367. Semnan University of Medical Sciences, based on the approval of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities of Iran, started its activity on 22 February 1367 by accepting 60 students in the field of medicine and under the supervision of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

However, in a period of less than a year, with the approval of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities, Semnan Faculty of Medicine became Semnan University of Medical Sciences and has been operating since 1368 with the units of Semnan Faculty of Medicine, Semnan Faculty of Nursing and Paramedicine, Shahroud Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery. (which became a faculty in 1371 and became a University of Medical Sciences in 1389) and started Behiari Houshmand Damghan High School.

Also, a land of 300 hectares was provided for the construction of the comprehensive plan of the university. The medical school building with an area of ​​21,000 square meters, a sports hall with an area of ​​2,000 square meters and a dormitory for 360 people with an area of ​​5,300 square meters has been put into operation.

Currently, 2756 students and 244 professors are working in this center. Based on the analysis, this center has published 1452 scientific articles in domestic journals and conferences and 650 ISI articles. Semnan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services is the owner and publisher. 1 is a specialized journal and so far 7 conferences have been organized by Semnan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services. In addition, so far 650 international articles have been extracted from this center.
