Studying at affordable universities in Iran

Immigration is one of the decisions that affects people’s future. Therefore, in this article, we have clearly reviewed studying in Iran for you. Nowadays, countries are facing a problem called immigration, which usually has reasons such as education, jobs, improving the standard of living and welfare, or even negative aspects such as war or political issues in countries.
Education is a topic we focus on. One of the most important factors in pursuing education is choosing the right university and, of course, considering the costs associated with it. The tuition fees for international students are determined by each university, and we will provide this information along with the names of the universities. In the following sections, we will introduce a few universities and the services they offer.

Al-Zahra University

Al-Zahra University was established in 1952 in the northwestern part of Tehran with the goal of providing higher education for women. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the university embarked on a path of comprehensive growth and development. The university’s mission is to educate knowledgeable, intellectual women who play significant roles in the social, political, cultural, and economic arenas of the country, while valuing family. Currently, over 7,200 students are studying under the guidance of more than 320 faculty members across 39 academic groups, offering 52 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs within nine faculties. About 2/3 of the university’s instructors are women. Among the faculty members, 31%are full professors, 11% are associate professors, and 19% are assistant professors. Annually, thousands of articles and dozens of books, based on the research of the university’s professors and students, are published in reputable national and international journals and conferences. Al-Zahra University is one of the affordable universities, offering excellent educational, research, cultural, and sports facilities on a beautiful and green campus spanning over 33 hectares in Tehran and its branch in Urmia, providing all the necessary resources for the academic growth and development of its students.

University of Birjand

Birjand University recognized as the academic and educational hub of eastern Iran, is the largest and oldest higher education institution in South Khorasan Province, with over 46 years of experience in scientific, educational, cultural, and social fields. The university has trained 30,000 specialists over the years. It encompasses all the components of a comprehensive university and operates with an independent Board of Trustees and Promotion Committee. Birjand University has approximately 13,300 students enrolled in 340 programs across associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Graduate students (master’s and doctoral) make up about 30% of the student population. With 350 faculty members, the university boasts a strong academic and research capability and is one of the affordable universities in South Khorasan Province. The university’s 354 staff members provide administrative, educational support, and welfare services across various departments. Birjand University consists of 11 faculties spread across three campuses: Shokatabad, Amirabad, and Shahid Campus. These faculties, listed in order of establishment, are: Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Literature and Humanities, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, Faculty of Mathematical Sciences and Statistics, Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Ferdows Technical Faculty.

Ahlulbayt International University

The “Ahlul Bayt (AS) International University” was established in 2004 with the mission to contribute to the academic advancement and to meet the scientific, research, and specialized needs of Muslim students and researchers, as well as to promote understanding of Islamic culture and civilization. Initially founded as a small academic center offering graduate programs, it was expanded into a comprehensive university in 2011. Located in a beautiful setting in Tehran, the capital of Iran, this university is recognized as an affordable institution, attracting students from various nationalities. It prides itself on welcoming applicants from around the world and has a faculty composed of specialists in diverse fields. Persian Gulf University

Persian Gulf University is a public university under the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran, and it is the largest higher education institution in Bushehr Province, located in the city of Bushehr. The university began accepting students in October 1992, initially under the name Bushehr University, offering programs in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Persian Gulf University has 9 research centers and 8 faculties, including Literature and Humanities, Business, Nanoscience and Biotechnology, Engineering, Intelligent Systems Engineering and Data Science, Agriculture, Arts and Architecture, Petroleum, Gas, and Petrochemical Engineering, and Marine Science and Technology. The university also has five vice-presidencies: Academic Affairs, Cultural and Student Affairs, Research and Technology, Planning and Development, and Human Resources and Support. Currently, 97 courses are being taught in this university, of which 92 courses are 31 at the undergraduate level, 56 at the master’s level, and 13 at the doctoral level.

Sajjad University of Technology

Sajjad University began its educational activities in 1995 as Sajjad Institute of Higher Education after receiving approval from the Higher Education Expansion Council of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology in Mashhad. According to rankings by the Ministry of Science, it has consistently been classified as a top-tier non-governmental university in the country. Over the past five years, according to statistics from the National Organization of Educational Testing, the university has had around 3,500 admissions to national master’s degree exams, and the strong presence of its graduates in various industrial sectors is one of the university’s significant achievements.
Sajjad University offers educational programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. According to statistics, it is the top choice for applicants after Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The university’s founding board consists of university professors and industrial experts from Iran. Sajjad University is the first in Iran to have been established with an industrial research center, which continues to operate as the university’s research hub.

International University Of Chabahar

Chabahar International University began its operations in 2002 by accepting students in 8 fields of study in collaboration with the University of London. The exams were conducted and evaluated by the University of London at the end of the academic year, and students were awarded a bachelor’s degree from the University of London. Additionally, after equivalency, a bachelor’s degree from Chabahar International University was also awarded to the graduates. In 2009, the university expanded its curriculum to include 10 undergraduate programs and began accepting students through the national entrance exam. Successful completion of these programs leads to the awarding of a bachelor’s degree. Currently, Chabahar International University offers more than twenty undergraduate and master’s programs.

University of Neyshabur

Neyshabur University, through the adoption of modern management, educational, and research technologies, along with empowering and motivating its academic and non-academic staff, provides specialized services to cultural, artistic, industrial, energy, and agricultural organizations within the province. The university aims to produce skilled, entrepreneurial, and committed graduates, contributing to valuable and practical knowledge production and creating aesthetic works. Presently, University of Neyshabur has four faculties: Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Basic Sciences, and Faculty of Engineering. The total administrative, educational, support, and welfare space of the university spans over 15,730 square meters.

Qom University of Technology

Qom University of Technology began its operations in 2008 with two programs in Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering, aiming to educate committed and devout students. Currently, the university has three faculties: Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Basic Sciences, offering 23 undergraduate and master’s programs. With 57 faculty members, the university hosts 2,000 students from across the country, particularly from Qom and Tehran. The university aims to ensure that its graduates become some of the most competent engineers and scientific, technical, and executive leaders in the country. Additionally, it is recognized as one of the best universities for international students in the field of industry and is considered an affordable option.

University of Bojnord

Bojnord University is a public university located in the city of Bojnord, established in 2005. Currently, more than 12,000 students are enrolled at the university, making it the primary higher education institution in North Khorasan Province. According to the university’s public relations office, the university’s student counseling center has been ranked as the top center for the fourth consecutive year at the 32nd annual gathering of heads and experts from university counseling centers across the country.

According to the report, the evaluation focused on providing mental and social health services to students during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. As a result, the university’s counseling center was awarded the special “Supporter” badge by the Counseling and Health Office of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. Bojnord University is considered the main and best university in North Khorasan Province and it is also one of the more affordable options for international students in Iran.
