Introduction
Before the Islamic revolution, there was no university or faculty of medical sciences in Kurdistan. In 1365, the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences was founded, where it started working on an associate degree in the field of nursing, and laboratory sciences.
In this university, there are 2551 students, 252 professors, and 296 faculty members. Based on the research, 951 scientific articles in domestic publications and conferences [475 journal articles and 476 conference articles] have been published by this center as well as 2694 internationally recognized articles. Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences is the owner and publisher of 5 specialized journals.

Welfare Facilities
Dormitory Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences has 13 dormitories, of which two of them for marriage [one of these dormitories with 8 units is located on Adeb St. and the other with 32 units in Baharan, currently 40 married students of this university with their families are located in these units] Two rented dormitories for boys have been leased from University Jihad, which the university itself directly supervises, and all administrative and management work is the responsibility of the university itself, which are located at the university and city level.
Another dormitory of the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences is the residents’ boarding house, which is specially designed for specialized students. Five of the dormitories are exclusively for boys, which are completely outside the university. But the other five dormitories, which are exclusively for girls, are inside the university campus except for one. Currently, 600 male students, 800 female students, and 40 married students are accommodated in the dormitories of this university.
Regarding the cost of these dormitories, the university does not charge a fee for the accommodation of students in these centers until graduation, and after graduation, this amount is paid through the student welfare fund and is paid in installments for the student.

Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences is located in Sanandaj and Pasdaran Blvd., after Shahada Police Force Blvd. Also, Dental School, Bua Ali Sina Park, Pasdaran Boulevard Bus Station, Dental Clinic, Sanandaj Tourism Hotel, Shadi Hotel, and Naseri Baharan gas station are located.
